Google I/O + Ohio Tech Summit Recap
This meetup connected firsthand reports from Google I/O with a discussion of the Ohio Tech Summit and Toledo’s technology community.
The Google I/O presentations explored how AI could change search, websites, and software development. Topics included making websites usable by agents, helping coding tools use modern browser features, and connecting agents to developer tools. A voice-assistant demonstration showed an application handling workplace requests through conversation. The discussion also examined the responsibilities that come with faster code generation: critical thinking, human review, security checks, and evaluating models against the tasks people actually need them to perform.
The Ohio Tech Summit panel shifted the focus to regional founders and the connections they made across the state. Panelists reflected on startup growth, enterprise AI adoption, and designing useful pilots. They emphasized agreeing on goals, milestones, and expected learning before a pilot begins, alongside attention to the people affected by new technology.
Audience questions brought the conversation back to Toledo: building on local manufacturing strengths, expanding opportunities beyond a single industry, and improving access to talent, investment, and customers. When asked how the community could help, panelists highlighted introductions to potential funders and customers, sharing expertise, and showing up for one another at regional events.
